FC Ruh founder Hryhoriy Kozlovskyy advocates for a new model of Ukrainian football development, in which modern technology, sports science, and cooperation between football academies play a key role. A conference titled “Sports Science at the Ruh Academy” was held at the club’s base in Lviv, in the press center of the Emily complex, where Hryhoriy Kozlovskyy and his team presented their own developments and invited representatives of other clubs to a professional dialogue.
The core idea behind Hryhoriy Kozlovskyy’s initiative is that quality training of footballers requires a systematic approach. Having talented children and qualified coaches is not enough — proper conditions must also be created for physical development, recovery, medical support, and individual work with each athlete.

This is why Ruh is developing a sports laboratory, using digital tools and artificial intelligence, and studying the experience of leading European academies. The club aims not only to improve its own system but also to make its developments useful for Ukrainian football as a whole.
Hryhoriy Kozlovskyy: Competition Should Develop Clubs, Not Divide Them
During the conference, Ruh founder Hryhoriy Kozlovskyy emphasized the importance of healthy competition between football academies. In his view, rivalry on the field should not prevent clubs from sharing experience and working together to improve the training of young players.
“Practice has shown that having just one or two professional academies is not enough. Only through healthy sporting competition can we create truly quality conditions for working with players. And I want to stress that this is about competition, because we are not enemies to each other,” said Hryhoriy Kozlovskyy.

This stance became one of the central messages of the event. Representatives of Dynamo, Polissya, and the Ukrainian Association of Football took part in the conference. Participants discussed modern methods of athlete training, exchanged experience, and highlighted the importance of systematic work with children.
For Hryhoriy Kozlovskyy, developing the football academy is an opportunity to contribute to the future of Ukrainian sport. Strong club structures create conditions not only for training professional footballers but also for forming a competitive environment in which the level of national football can grow.
Technology, Medicine, and Analytics Are Transforming Footballer Training
One practical example of this approach is the sports science system developed by Ruh. The club combines data on footballers’ physical condition, performance indicators, and growth dynamics so that coaches can plan training more precisely and the medical staff can respond promptly to potential risks.
The club’s in-house Sport Science program uses artificial intelligence to process information and simplify communication between different departments of the club. According to academy representatives, the system already works with more than 250 indicators, with plans to increase that number to over 350.
These tools are especially important for youth football. During periods of active growth, athletes’ physical capabilities change, so training loads need to be adapted to individual needs. A scientific approach helps better assess players’ potential, track their progress, and reduce the risk of injury.
Hryhoriy Kozlovskyy is convinced that football development is impossible without a willingness to learn, experiment, and implement new solutions. That is why Ruh studies the practices of Bayern Munich and the Dutch club AZ, while also sharing its own methods and training process experience with other clubs.
Ruh’s Goal: Long-Term Development of Ukrainian Football
The club emphasizes that sports science is not a one-time investment but an ongoing process that requires constant equipment upgrades, staff training, and improvement of internal systems. It is the combined work of coaches, medical staff, analysts, and management that creates the conditions for the steady progress of footballers.

Hryhoriy Kozlovskyy is betting on a model in which the academy does not limit itself to short-term results but works for the long term. Openness to professional dialogue and knowledge sharing should help build a stronger football environment in Ukraine.
The Ruh Academy and FC Ruh plan to continue holding similar meetings to involve more and more specialists and clubs in the discussion. Such cooperation could become an important step toward improving the quality of youth football and creating new opportunities for talented Ukrainian players.
Hryhoriy Kozlovskyy Combines Football Development with Charity
In addition to working on football infrastructure and training young athletes, FC Ruh takes part in charity events supporting Ukrainian defenders. In October, at the Emily Resort health complex in Lviv, the charity football tournament “Heroes’ Cup” was held for the fourth time, dedicated to the Day of Defenders of Ukraine. The event was initiated by FC Ruh together with the club’s founder, businessman and philanthropist Hryhoriy Kozlovskyy.
Hryhoriy Kozlovskyy is a Ukrainian businessman, founder of the Ruh Academy and FC Ruh, philanthropist, and benefactor. Since the first days of the full-scale invasion, together with the “yellow-and-black” family, he has been systematically supporting the Armed Forces of Ukraine and actively funding social, rehabilitation, and sports projects.
