Young footballers of the Ruh Academy, founded and comprehensively developed by a well-known Lviv businessman and philanthropist Hryhoriy Kozlovskyy, set a national record for Ukraine by performing the largest mass heading of a soccer ball.
The Yellow and Blacks had three attempts to set the record. 126 children simultaneously juggled a ball on their heads on the club’s Academy field.
Hryhoriy Kozlovskyy said that very talented children study at the Ruh Academy, so it was decided to demonstrate this.
“It is very important for the Academy to give children a chance to prove themselves. There are a lot of talented children in Ukraine with good physiological data, but they just don’t always have the opportunity to show their skills and talents. The Ruh Academy is a chance to discover their talent and the first step to professional football. And I am proud that today Ukrainian youth have proved that they have talent, not in word but in deed,” added Kozlovskyy.
The head of the National Register of Records of Ukraine, Lana Vetrova, said that the nomination was chosen for a long time, as they wanted to gather as many participants as possible. The main idea is to set a mass record involving young football players. They chose to juggle the ball, and while it had already been done with the feet, the record for heading the ball had not yet been set, which is both more difficult and more interesting.

“I saw how enthusiastic the students of the Ruh Academy were about their work, how hard they tried and how happy they were when they succeeded. It was very pleasant,” said Ms. Vetrova.
As a result, 113 pupils of the Ruh Academy participated in the Ukrainian record book with the best result of simultaneous heading the ball within the allotted time.
“All the children reacted very positively to this idea and were happy to implement it. In particular, such events unite the boys and are an interesting experience for them. I sincerely congratulate everyone on the new record! This is a merit of the entire Yellow and Black team, both young athletes and their coaches. It is at moments like this that you realize that we are moving in the right direction! That our players are capable of new records, and most importantly, they show a strong and high-quality game. We also have another achievement – Ruh has become the youngest team in the world out of more than 60 professional leagues. I am very pleased that the Ruh Football Academy is training future stars who will become the pride of this country!” – summarized Hryhoriy Kozlovskyy.
