Ruh continues to write its own history with its first quarterfinal appearance in the Ukrainian Cup. In the match of the 1/8 finals at the Lviv Arena, Leonid Kuchuk’s men won a strong-willed victory over Karpaty with a score of 1-0.
The club’s founder, Hryhoriy Kozlovskyy, emotionally congratulated the team on their historic achievement: “Thank you team! Thanks to the coach! Thanks to all the club employees! Thanks to all the fans! Thanks to the soldiers of the Armed Forces! Today everything fell into place! Lviv is yellow and black today!” The only goal of the match was scored by Denys Pidhurskyi in the 79th minute, who had come on as a substitute a few minutes earlier. A powerful long-range shot in the touch proved to be decisive in this fundamental confrontation. Until then, the teams had been exchanging dangerous attacks. In the first half, Ihor Krasnopir and Yevhen Pastukh came close to scoring. After the break, the Yellow and Blacks picked up the pace, with Oleg Fedor and Oleksiy Sych creating dangerous chances.
