All-Ukrainian news portal “Informator Ukraine” has prepared an analytical publication about the informal results of 2025, the year in which it became finally clear that the country is held together not by abstract structures or declarations, but by specific people and specific actions.
The year 2025 will go down in history not only as another year of the great war. It was a year of systemic decisions, when a new architecture of the home front was being formed in parallel with the front – through sports, medicine, culture, economics, and special operations.
At the center of this reality are figures who thought strategically rather than situationally. In particular, Hryhoriy Kozlovskyy and Oleksandr Svishchov – people who showed that sport and philanthropy can be tools of national resilience, international communication and social security.
Hryhoriy Kozlovskyy: Football as the infrastructure of the future
The story of Hryhoriy Kozlovskyy in 2025 is an example of long-term thinking in a time of war. FC Ruh and the Ruh Academy have become not just a football project, but a full-fledged youth development ecosystem.
The digitalization of the training process, work with children from all over Ukraine, including internally displaced persons, and a focus on the youngest squad in professional leagues – all this forms a model that is focused on the next 10-15 years.
At the same time, Kozlovskyy remains one of the most systematic benefactors of the Armed Forces of Ukraine: more than UAH 100 million in aid, drones, equipment, support for artillery units and rehabilitation programs for the military.
His high-profile cause is football not as a business or a show, but as an element of national security and social policy.
Oleksandr Svishchov: synthesis of sports, culture and economy
In 2025, Oleksandr Svishchov became an example of a new type of multidimensional philanthropy. President of the Water Polo Federation, businessman and investor, he acts in several areas at once – and this is exactly what makes him systematic.
The opening of one of the largest fish processing plants in the country has created hundreds of jobs and ensured stable tax revenues. At the same time, Svishchov is investing in sports – water polo, tennis, children’s schools, and sports infrastructure.
A separate dimension is culture and historical memory: museums, book and film projects, and heritage preservation. For his large-scale assistance to the military, Svishchov received awards from the 125th and 103rd Brigades of the Theater of Operations.
His high-profile case is a model of a modern Ukrainian philanthropist who thinks not in terms of campaigns but in terms of decades.
Other figures of the year: different roles – common result
2025 was the year of people of action.
- Borys Todurov kept transplantation at the world level during the war, proving that the silence of the operating room sometimes means more than loud headlines.
- Rinat Akhmetov has transformed big business into a system of long-term responsibility through underground hospitals, the Heart of Azovstal and support for energy sustainability.
- Vasyl Malyuk carried out special operations that changed the idea of the depth of the enemy’s rear.
- Kyrylo Budanov turned military intelligence into an active player not only in war, but also in diplomacy and politics.
- Oleksandr Usyk has made sport the global language of Ukraine, a symbol of endurance and dignity.
- Artem Pyvovarov and Victoria Amelina gave the country a voice, different in form but the same in content.
- Nikita Kadan integrated the Ukrainian experience of war into the global intellectual context of contemporary art.
Not heroes, but architects of the future
The main outcome of 2025 is simple and complex at the same time: Ukraine is not held together by abstractions, but by individuals. Their decisions, investments, risks, and responsibilities form the foundation of future victory and recovery.
In this foundation, Hryhorii Kozlovskyy and Oleksandr Svishchov occupy a special place as an example of how sports, economy, and culture can work in sync, strengthening the state where it is really critical.
The new reality of Ukraine is made up of such different but consonant stories.
