FC Ruh won the bronze medal at the UEFA Grassroots Awards.

The Ruh Academy gained European fame after its students successfully competed in the UEFA Youth League 2022/23. The club’s pupils are successful in adult football.

“It is very important for the Academy to give children a chance to prove themselves. There are a lot of talented children in Ukraine with good physiological data, but they just don’t always have the opportunity to show their skills and talents. The Ruh Academy is a chance to reveal their talent and the first step to professional football,” said Hryhoriy Kozlovskyy, the founder of FC Ruh.

The UEFA Grassroots Awards are given to those football clubs that have achieved particular success in working with young people and have created successful development projects. Candidates are nominated by European national football associations. The winners are determined by the UEFA Development and Technical Assistance Committee. This season, the Slovakian club DAK 1904 was the best. The second place was awarded to the Irish Bohemians.

Hryhoriy Kozlovskyy said that more than 200 children study at the FC Ruh Academy, which trains talented football players. The youngest age group at the Academy is U-10, while the oldest are the U-17 players.

The honorary president and founder of the Academy and FC Ruh, Hryhoriy Kozlovskyy, said: “The UEFA Award is a fantastic triumph for Lviv youth at the European level. It is a recognition of the work of the coaches and the entire Yellow and Black team. This is a significant achievement for Ruh’s young players, which testifies to their high skill and prospects.”

The Ruh Football Academy is one of the best youth football projects in Ukraine, which trains talented players for the adult team of FC Ruh and the national teams of Ukraine. One of the secrets of Ruh’s success is its consistency. After the Yellow and Black Academy was opened, the team chose to develop its own players and use them to strengthen the main team. Currently, the core of Lviv’s team is made up of Ruh players, who have been champions of Ukraine in the U-19 category for two years in a row and played in the UEFA Youth League. In the UEFA Youth League of the 2022/23 season, FC Ruh overcame two qualifying rounds and reached the 1/8 finals.

“Ruh players take part in Ukrainian and international competitions of the highest level, playing in tournaments with top European clubs,” said Hryhoriy Kozlovskyy.

Recently, Ruh’s U-10 and U-11 teams have been fantastic in the Number One Cup 2024 tournament in Gdansk. The youngest team, Ruh U-10, won the tournament, defeating Portuguese side Porto 2-1 in the final. And Ruh U-11 won a silver medal, losing in the final to Portuguese Sporting with a score of 0:1.

Hryhoriy Kozlovskyy noted that the Ruh football club and Academy and the entire yellow and black family will continue to do everything to develop football, nurture talented players and reach new heights.
