The founder of the Ruh football club and the Ruh v Budynuvannya charity foundation , Hryhoriy Kozlovsky, initiated the Heroes’ Cup charity tournament and auction held in Lviv in honor of the Day of Defenders of Ukraine. The event was organized jointly with the Lviv Regional Military Administration and the 7th Carpathian Border Guard Detachment.

“For us, organizing the Heroes’ Cup tournament has become not only an opportunity to unite people around sports, but also an important step in supporting our military. We have raised UAH 4 million that will be used to purchase drones and rehabilitate the wounded. This proves that each of us can contribute to a common cause, and we must continue to support our defenders,” said Hryhoriy Kozlovskyy, founder of FC Ruh.
Six teams took part in the competition, which included military, police and medical personnel, as well as star football players, including Yuriy Pankiv, Valeriy Fedorchuk, Mykola Morozyuk and others. The participants competed in the media football format to not only show their sports skills but also to boost morale.

“FC Ruh is constantly involved in helping the military through charity tournaments and auctions. It is important for us that the guys can compete, get positive emotions and help meet the needs of the Armed Forces,” said Oleh Shpur, Executive Director of the Movement for the Future Charitable Foundation.

After the group stage of the competition, where the teams were divided into two groups, the 6th Volyn and 3rd Luhansk border guard detachments became the best, and in the final they faced the team of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Lviv region. Regular time ended in a 2-2 draw, but the border guards were more accurate in the penalty shootout. The event also featured an exhibition of weapons, and the audience had the opportunity to enjoy food and performances by the dog service.

The competition was followed by a charity auction hosted by Andriy Bednyakov. In total, the event raised UAH 4 million for the purchase of drones and rehabilitation of wounded soldiers. The event was also attended by celebrities such as Svyatoslav Vakarchuk and Viktor Didukh.

Hryhoriy Kozlovskyy noted that organizing the Heroes’ Cup charity tournament is our shared responsibility and an opportunity to support our defenders. Football unites, gives positive emotions, and we were able to raise UAH 4 million to purchase drones and rehabilitate wounded soldiers. This shows that together we can do a lot for our country. This tournament, which was held for the second time, was an important event for all participants, emphasizing the unity and support of Ukraine’s defenders.
