FC Ruh U-19 will once again become the champion of Ukraine in the coming years, said the founder and owner of FC Ruh, Hryhoriy Kozlovskyy, commenting on the performance of the U-19 team this season on Facebook.
Hryhoriy Kozlovskyy noted: The team has embarked on a global course of rejuvenation: “Ruh has taken a global course for rejuvenation and for the next season it will be a global rejuvenation where children born in 2007-2008 will play, but in a season and the following seasons we will be champions! This is the club’s strategy! Be patient, friends! The hegemony of the movement is coming soon! This requires faith and patience!”
Recently, FC Ruh Lviv, thanks to its work and contribution to the development of European football, won the UEFA Grassroots Awards as the best professional club in 2023/24.
“Without a strong grassroots game, the elite level of football could not exist. The UEFA Grassroots Awards is an important recognition and triumph of Lviv youth at the European level. This is a significant achievement for Ruh’s young players, which testifies to their high skill and prospects,” said Hryhoriy Kozlovskyy, owner and honorary president of FC Ruh.
Today, FC Ruh has a very strong generation of players born in 2008. There are 11 candidates for the Ukrainian national team of this age. No other Ukrainian club has that many. Dzhurabayev or Mutstafayev are no longer heard from. In the coming years, a whole galaxy of players may join the first team.
“Investing in the development of children is a key role of the football club and the Ruh Academy,” says Hryhoriy Kozlovskyy. – We develop future players, fans, referees and coaches.”
Lviv’s Ruh Football Academy gained European fame after the successful performance of Ruh U-19 in the UEFA Youth League 2022/23, where the yellow and black team showed a strong performance, defeating powerful opponents. FC Ruh reached the 1/8 finals after overcoming two qualifying rounds.
Another Ruhiv talent was recognized by the International Center for Sports Studies (CIES) – the Yellow and Blacks topped the ranking of the youngest teams in more than 60 leagues around the world. The CIES Football Observatory calculated the number of minutes played by players under the age of 21 in 61 leagues around the world, including the top 31 leagues in Europe. Lviv’s FC Ruh took first place in the ranking with 52.4%. Slovakia’s Zilina took second place with 44.5, and the Austrian Red Bull from Salzburg was third with 42.7.
The other day, two players of the Ukrainian FC Ruh were nominated for Golden Boy 2024. Ruh midfielder Yevhen Pastukh joined Bohdan Slyubyk on this list, and they are the only Ukrainians among the 100 nominees for the prestigious award.
“The play of these players is a vivid example of the combination of young players’ talent and coaching. And for others, it is an incentive for new achievements and victories. We need strong football players. And I am very pleased that the Ruh Football Academy is training future stars who will become the pride of Ukraine!“ summarized Hryhoriy Kozlovskyy.
